House of Exile nominated for Gold

... as Perry has reported, a title I reviewed recently has been shortlisted for the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal. And deservedly so.
The ALS medal looks to be another award that is selected across categories, as the list includes biography, poetry and fiction.

(The Slap, of course, has been reviewed here too - but I hardly need to link to that review as it has persistently increased the traffic here since it was posted back in November last year. If that's anything to go by, it's either one hell of a popular book, an easily remembered title, or both.)
